डेल्ही, गुजरात और तेलंगाना में नए कार्यवाहक मुख्य न्यायाधीशों की नियुक्ति
नियम 223 के अंतर्गत, नितिन वासुदेओ सैंब्रे, मनाश रंजन पथक और पुथिचिरा सम कोशी को क्रमशः दिल्ली, गुजरात और तेलंगाना उच्च न्यायालयों के कार्यवाहक मुख्य न्यायाधीश नियुक्त किया गया। वे अपने पूर्ववर्ती, देवेंद्र कुमार ऊपाध्याय, सुनीता अग्रवाल और अपरेश कुमार सिंह के सुप्रीम कोर्ट में पदोन्नति के बाद कार्यभार संभालेंगे। यह व्यवस्था उच्च न्यायालयों के सुचारु संचालन को सुनिश्चित करती है।

The Ministry of Law and Justice, Department of Justice (Appointments Division), Government of India, notified the appointment of three Judges to discharge the duties of Chief Justices of the Delhi, Gujarat and Telangana High Courts through a notification dated 5 October 2026.
The appointments have been made under Article 223 of the Constitution of India and will take effect from the respective dates on which the incumbent Chief Justices relinquish charge following their elevation to the Supreme Court.
Justice Nitin Wasudeo Sambre, Judge of the Delhi High Court, has been appointed to perform the duties of the office of Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court after Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya relinquishes charge consequent upon his elevation as a Judge of the Supreme Court.
Justice Sambre joined the Delhi High Court on 21 July 2025, following his transfer from the Bombay High Court. He was elevated as an Additional Judge of the Bombay High Court in January 2014 and became a permanent Judge in March 2016. Before his elevation, he practised in civil, writ and criminal matters and served as Government Pleader and Public Prosecutor. He also served as Secretary of the High Court Bar Association, Nagpur.
Justice Manash Ranjan Pathak, Judge of the Gujarat High Court, has been appointed to perform the duties of the office of Chief Justice of the Gujarat High Court after Justice Sunita Agarwal relinquishes charge consequent upon her elevation as a Judge of the Supreme Court.
Justice Pathak was elevated as an Additional Judge of the Gauhati High Court on 22 May 2013 and became a permanent Judge on 12 November 2018. He was subsequently transferred to the Orissa High Court, where he served from July 2025, and then to the Gujarat High Court, where he assumed charge on 14 September 2026. He had practised primarily in civil, constitutional, land acquisition and service matters and had also served as Standing Counsel for the State of Tripura and the Government of Assam.
Justice Puthichira Sam Koshy, Judge of the Telangana High Court, has been appointed as Acting Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court from the date on which Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh relinquishes charge consequent upon his elevation as a Judge of the Supreme Court.
Justice Koshy was elevated as an Additional Judge of the Chhattisgarh High Court on 16 September 2013 and became a permanent Judge on 8 March 2016. He was transferred to the Telangana High Court and took the oath as a Judge on 27 July 2023.
The appointments will accordingly facilitate the functioning of the three High Courts following the elevation of their incumbent Chief Justices to the Supreme Court.
