2026 में भारत में न्यायिक वेतन को दूसरी राष्ट्रीय न्यायिक वेतन आयोग ने तय किया है। सिविल जज का मूल वेतन 77,840 रुपये से शुरू होकर 1,336,520 रुपये तक बढ़ सकता है, जबकि जिला जज का वेतन 1,44,840 से 2,40,000 रुपये के बीच है। उच्च न्यायालय के न्यायाधीश 2,25,000 रुपये प्रति माह कमाते हैं और सर्वोच्च न्यायालय के न्यायाधीश 2,50,000 रुपये कमाते हैं, साथ ही उन्हें सरकारी बंगले, आधिकारिक कार, चिकित्सा व सुरक्षा जैसी सुविधाएँ भी मिलती हैं।

The salaries of judges in India are governed by the Second National Judicial Pay Commission. The recommendations were implemented from January 1, 2016. The salary of the Supreme Court and High Court judges is determined by the Parliament of India under the Supreme Court Judges (Salaries and Conditions of Service) Act, 1958, and the High Court Judges (Salaries and Conditions of Service) Act, 1954. Apart from the basic pay, judicial officers benefit from various facilities provided by the government. These benefits vary depending on the position and seniority level.

Candidates who appear for the state judicial services exam such as Rajasthan Judicial Services (RJS), Uttar Pradesh Judicial Services (UPPCS-J), etc., are recruited for the Civil Judge’s position at the respective district courts. A Civil Judge deals with civil matters such as revenue-related matters, land-related matters, or family disputes.

The Civil Judge salary in India 2026 starts at Rs 77,840. This is the basic pay of a Civil Judge in India, but it might vary for different states. The basic Civil Judge salary in India increases yearly and reaches up to Rs 1,336,520. In addition, the judge is provided with the following additional allowances with the basic salary.

- Dearness allowance (DA) to manage the increasing cost of living.

- House rent allowance (HRA), to buy or rent a house. Some states assign a bungalow to the Civil Judge.

- Domestic staff

- Driver

- Car

- Telephone & electricity bills

- Travel allowance

- Medical bills for all dependents

- Children's school fees

A district judge in India can earn a basic salary of Rs 1,44,840 to Rs 2,40,000 depending on the position in the Higher Judicial Pay Scale. The salary of a district judge in India differs by state. A district judge is additionally provided with approximately 42% dearness allowance. Some other benefits include HRA, medical bills, an official bungalow, staff support, an official vehicle, and a personal assistant.

A High Court Judge in India has a fixed monthly salary of Rs 2,25,000. The additional benefits offered to a High Court Judge do not include DA and HRA. Instead, they are offered the following benefits with the fixed salary.

- Furnished official residence

- Official car with driver

- Personal secretaries and orderlies

- Free medical care for the family

- Official telephone facility

- Entertainment allowance

- Paid holidays

The basic salary of the Chief Justice of the High Court in India is Rs 2,50,000. The salary of a Chief Justice in the Supreme Court is Rs 2,80,000. The Judges are assigned official bungalows in a prime location in Delhi. The list of some of the benefits includes:

- Official cars

- Security detail

- Domestic staff

- Premier hospital medical care

- Secretarial support

- Allocated courtroom

- Team of Law Clerks.

There is no Dearness Allowance added to their benefits.

The salary of a Supreme Court Judge in India is Rs 2,50,000. A Supreme Court judge holds higher power and additional benefits, including a premium bungalow, cars, security, staff, healthcare, etc.

The Supreme Court of India has introduced a change in the three-year rule for judiciary exams. Candidates aiming to appear for the judiciary exam in India require only a year of practice before the examination. The remaining training will be completed after the candidates have entered the service.

Judicial officers in India are entitled to get a pension after retirement. The High Court & Supreme Court judges get a pension equivalent to half of their salary. For example, the salary of a High Court judge is Rs 2, 50,000, there fixed monthly pension will be approximately Rs 1,25,000. Retired Supreme Court judges get a furnished official residence in New Delhi with a designated secretary, car facilities, and lifetime medical benefits. Retired judges are permitted to continue to serve on commissions to earn a monthly salary.
